Enemy
Fossil Stalker
normal
The Fossil Stalker is a reanimated prehistoric predator that prowls the depths of the Underdocks in Act 1b. Its skeletal frame is partially petrified, with ancient bones jutting out at sharp angles from its elongated body. Glowing embers flicker in its hollow eye sockets as it stalks its prey through the subterranean tunnels, a remnant of a long-extinct species given new and terrible purpose.
In combat, the Fossil Stalker is an aggressive attacker that relies on swift, powerful strikes. It can deliver devastating bite attacks that deal high damage in a single hit, and may buff its own Strength over the course of the fight, making each subsequent attack more lethal. The Stalker occasionally enters a prowling stance where it prepares an especially powerful attack on the following turn, telegraphed by a distinct intent change.
Defeating the Fossil Stalker requires a balance of offense and defense. When you see it preparing a large attack, prioritize Block to survive the incoming hit, then counter-attack aggressively on the following turn. Applying Weak can significantly reduce its damage output, especially as its Strength scales. Try to end the fight quickly before its damage ramps beyond what your deck can handle, and save any burst damage for turns when it drops its guard.
