Orichalcum is a Common relic in Slay the Spire 2 that grants 6 Block automatically if you end your turn without any Block. This acts as a safety net on turns where your draw does not produce any defensive cards, smoothing out the variance that can lead to taking large amounts of unnecessary damage.

The relic is most valuable in the early game and in decks that lean heavily into offense. Attack-focused builds that skip defensive card picks can rely on Orichalcum to provide a baseline level of protection every turn. It also shines in fights against enemies that deal moderate chip damage, where 6 Block is often enough to fully absorb an incoming hit.

Be aware that Orichalcum only triggers when you have exactly zero Block at end of turn. This means that playing even a single Defend will disable it, which can occasionally make it counterproductive if you have limited Block generation. It pairs poorly with Plated Armor or other persistent Block sources, since those prevent the condition from being met.
