Tough Bandages is a Rare relic in Slay the Spire 2 that grants 3 Block whenever you discard a card during your turn. This relic turns card discard, normally a drawback or neutral action, into a source of defensive value that can provide substantial Block in discard-heavy strategies.

The 3 Block per discard adds up quickly in decks built around discard mechanics. Cards like Calculated Gamble, Survivor, and Tools of the Trade all trigger Tough Bandages, generating free Block alongside their normal effects. In a dedicated discard build, you might discard 3-5 cards per turn, generating 9-15 Block without spending any Energy on defensive cards.

Tough Bandages is a core relic for the Silent's discard-focused builds and synergizes powerfully with Tingsha, which deals damage on discard. Together, these relics turn every discarded card into both 3 damage and 3 Block, converting deck cycling into simultaneous offense and defense. The relic is also strong with Gambling Chip and any other mass-discard effects. It provides no value in decks that do not actively discard cards during their turn, making it build-specific but exceptionally powerful in the right strategy.
