Battle Trance is a 0-cost Uncommon Skill card for the Ironclad that draws 3 cards but prevents you from drawing any more cards for the rest of the turn. The 3 cards for 0 energy is extremely efficient, but the draw lock means you cannot use other draw effects afterward.
Battle Trance is best played as the last draw effect in a turn. Play Pommel Strike and Shrug It Off first for their draws, then Battle Trance for the final 3 cards. The draw lock does not affect Fiend Fire or other cards that do not draw. In Strength decks, the 3 extra cards provide more Attacks to play with Inflame or Demon Form's bonus. Offering should be played before Battle Trance since it also draws cards.
Battle Trance is a premium draw card for the Ironclad that requires careful sequencing. Pick it when your deck needs more card access without spending energy. Against every boss, 3 free cards is always powerful. Against Doormaker, the extra cards provide options for each phase. The draw lock is the main consideration: ensure your other draw effects are played first. The Ironclad benefits from the burst of cards to fuel single-turn combos.
