Enemy
Doormaker
boss
Doormaker is one of the Act 3 bosses encountered in Glory and represents one of the ultimate challenges in Slay the Spire 2. Doormaker summons portals that spawn minions, creating an ever-escalating threat that demands both AoE clearing and sustained single-target damage on the boss itself. Failing to manage the portals results in being overwhelmed, while ignoring the boss lets it strengthen its spawning mechanics.
The Ironclad handles Doormaker with AoE attacks like Whirlwind, Immolate, and Pyre for portal clearing, while Demon Form provides the Strength scaling needed to damage the boss between spawn waves. Fiend Fire can deal enormous damage by exhausting a full hand, and Dark Embrace plus Feel No Pain turn the exhaust plays into card draw and Block. The Silent's Noxious Fumes applies Poison to all enemies including portals and the boss simultaneously, while Storm of Steel and Blade Dance with Accuracy generate enough Shiv damage to clear minions. Corrosive Wave provides AoE Poison and Block in one card.
The Necrobinder's End of Days is arguably the single best card against Doormaker, applying massive Doom to ALL enemies and executing any that fall below the threshold. This can clear an entire wave of portal spawns while simultaneously stacking Doom on the boss. The Defect's Electrodynamics makes Lightning hit all enemies, turning every Lightning Orb evoke into AoE clearing. Echo Form doubles the first card each turn, providing incredible value when that card is an AoE attack. The Regent's forged cards should include at least one AoE option for Doormaker. This boss fight is the primary reason experienced players prioritize AoE options during Act 2 card selection, even if their build is primarily single-target focused.
