Blight Strike

Blight Strike is a common Necrobinder attack that costs 1 Energy, deals 8 damage, and applies Doom equal to the damage dealt. This dual-purpose card provides both immediate damage and Doom stacking, making it the foundation of the Necrobinder's Doom archetype. Every point of damage becomes a point of Doom that threatens eventual execution.

Blight Strike synergizes with Death March for additional Doom application and Reaper Form to make ALL attacks apply Doom. Deaths Door provides Block that scales with Doom application. Lethality increases the Doom applied by all sources. Combined with Borrowed Time for self-Doom that generates Energy, and Melancholy for Doom manipulation, Blight Strike anchors the Doom engine.

Blight Strike is essential for any Necrobinder deck pursuing the Doom archetype. Against bosses like Kaiser Crab, where massive Block makes direct damage inefficient, Doom execution ignores all defenses. Against Lagavulin Matriarch, Doom stacks applied during the dormant phase set up a swift execution once the fight begins. Multiple copies of Blight Strike in a focused Doom deck can stack enough Doom to execute Act 3 bosses like Doormaker.
