Card
Falling Star
Deal 6 damage. Gain 1 Star.
Falling Star is a common Regent attack that costs 1 Energy to deal 6 damage and gain 1 Star. As one of the Regent's starting cards alongside Venerate, it provides the offensive half of the Regent's early-game toolkit while contributing to the Stars resource that fuels the Forge mechanic. The 6 damage is modest, but the Star generation makes every play of Falling Star an investment in your deck's long-term power.
Falling Star works best alongside Venerate to balance offense and Star generation. In the early game, alternating between Falling Star for damage and Venerate for Block establishes the rhythm of the Regent's playstyle. As your deck grows, Falling Star can be enhanced by Strength buffs or combined with cards that trigger on Attack plays. The Regent's Forge mechanic rewards consistent Star generation, and Falling Star is the most straightforward way to accumulate Stars while maintaining board pressure.
Against early Act 1 enemies in the Overgrowth or Underdocks, Falling Star provides reliable chip damage while building toward your first Forge activation. Against bosses like Ceremonial Beast that have high HP pools, the damage from Falling Star alone is insufficient, but the Stars generated contribute to forging the powerful upgraded cards that can carry the fight. Like all starter cards, Falling Star may eventually be worth removing from your deck once you have enough Star-generating cards with higher impact, but early on it is essential for getting the Regent's engine started.
