Tempest

Tempest is an uncommon Defect skill with X cost that channels X Lightning Orbs, spending all your remaining Energy on Lightning generation. This scaling card converts excess Energy into Lightning Orbs, which provide passive damage each turn and burst damage on Evoke. With high Energy from Plasma or Energy-gain effects, Tempest floods your board.

Tempest pairs spectacularly with Double Energy, which doubles your pool before Tempest converts it all to Lightning. TURBO and Fusion provide extra Energy for bigger Tempest casts. Electrodynamics makes all the channeled Lightning hit ALL enemies, and Thunder Strike scales its damage based on Lightning channeled, counting every Tempest Orb.

For the Defect, Tempest is a powerful card for converting Energy surplus into Lightning pressure. Against multi-enemy bosses like Ceremonial Beast, a large Tempest with Electrodynamics active fills your board with AoE Lightning. Against single targets, the Lightning Orbs provide sustained chip damage and Evoke burst. Use Double Energy before Tempest for maximum Lightning generation.
