Fusion is an uncommon Defect skill costing 2 Energy that channels 1 Plasma Orb. Plasma provides 1 Energy passively each turn and 2 Energy on Evoke, making Fusion an investment that pays dividends over multiple turns. The Plasma Orb effectively reduces future turns' net Energy cost, enabling more expensive plays.
Fusion enables Meteor Strike by contributing toward the Energy needed, and the Plasma Orb synergizes with Dualcast for a burst of 4 Energy. Multi-Cast Evokes Plasma multiple times for massive Energy generation. Barrage deals damage per Orb, counting Plasma, and Compile Driver draws an extra card if Plasma is a unique Orb type on your board.
For the Defect, Fusion is a key Energy investment card that enables high-cost strategies. Against bosses like Kaiser Crab and Test Subject #C10 where fights last many turns, the recurring Plasma Energy adds up enormously. Against Doormaker, Plasma-funded turns can power out expensive combos. Pair Fusion with Double Energy and Capacitor for an Energy-rich Defect build that plays multiple expensive cards per turn.
