Amplify

Amplify is a rare Defect skill costing 1 Energy that causes the next Power card you play this turn to be played twice. This doubling effect can create game-winning moments: double Defragment for 2 Focus, double Echo Form for doubled first and second plays each turn, or double Creative AI for 2 Powers generated per turn.

Amplify is most devastating with Echo Form, creating a double-stacked duplication effect, and with Defragment for an immediate 2 permanent Focus. Biased Cognition doubled grants 8 Focus in one turn, and Electrodynamics doubled channels 4 Lightning while making all Lightning AoE.

For the Defect, Amplify is a rare card that functions as a Power multiplier. Against bosses like Kaiser Crab and Test Subject #C10 where long-term scaling matters, doubling a key Power early can define the entire fight. Against aggressive bosses, doubling Buffer provides 2 hits of damage prevention. Time Amplify carefully to maximize which Power gets doubled, and consider holding it until you draw your most impactful Power.
