Defragment

Defragment is a rare Defect Power costing 1 Energy that permanently grants 1 Focus. Focus increases the passive effect of every Orb you have channeled: Lightning deals more damage, Frost generates more Block, Dark grows faster, and Plasma produces more Energy. As the most efficient permanent Focus source, Defragment is the foundation of Orb-based Defect strategies.

Defragment synergizes with every Orb-generating card in the Defect's kit. Glacier and Coolheaded channel Frost that benefits from Focus for stronger Block. Ball Lightning and Zap produce Lightning that deals more passive damage. Amplify plays Defragment twice for 2 Focus, and Echo Form doubles it for the same effect.

For the Defect, Defragment is arguably the single most important card to pick up. Against every boss from Soul Fysh to Doormaker, permanent Focus scaling makes your Orbs exponentially more powerful as the fight continues. Multiple copies of Defragment stack for massive Focus values. Pair with Biased Cognition for an immediate 5 Focus burst that wins fights before the drawback matters. Always pick Defragment when offered.
