Overclock

Overclock is an uncommon Defect skill costing 0 Energy that draws 2 cards and adds a Burn status card into your Discard Pile. The free card draw is exceptional, as drawing 2 for 0 Energy is among the most efficient card-cycling effects available. The Burn penalty deals damage when drawn, but is manageable.

Overclock's Burn generation synergizes with Smokestack, which deals AoE damage when the Burn is created, and with Iteration, which draws extra cards when Burn is drawn. Disassemble Exhausts the Burn for Energy and cards, and Compact transforms it into Fuel. Machine Learning stacks with Overclock's draw for massive hand sizes.

For the Defect, Overclock is one of the best uncommon cards available. Against every boss from Soul Fysh to Test Subject #C10, drawing 2 cards for free improves your turn regardless of the Burn. In Status-synergy builds, the Burn becomes an advantage rather than a cost. Pick Overclock in virtually every Defect deck and manage the Burn with exhaust effects or simply by accepting the occasional damage.
