Coolheaded is a common Defect skill costing 1 Energy that channels 1 Frost Orb and draws 1 card. The combination of defense and card cycling in a single card makes Coolheaded one of the Defect's best common options. The Frost Orb provides passive Block each turn and a larger Block burst on Evoke, while the draw keeps your hand full.
Coolheaded synergizes naturally with Defragment, which boosts the Block output of every Frost Orb, and with Glacier for stacking multiple Frost Orbs at once. Loop triggers the passive of your rightmost Frost Orb an extra time each turn, and Capacitor gives you more Orb Slots to hold the Frost Orbs Coolheaded generates.
As a Defect card, Coolheaded is almost always worth picking up. It provides the defensive foundation for Frost-based builds while contributing to deck cycling. Against bosses like Kin Priest and The Insatiable who apply sustained pressure, a Frost wall built through Coolheaded and similar cards is the primary survival strategy. The card draw component also helps find key pieces like Biased Cognition or Defragment faster.
