Channel 1 Lightning.

Zap is a common Defect skill that channels 1 Lightning Orb. As one of the Defect's most fundamental cards, it introduces the Lightning mechanic that underpins many builds. At 1 Energy, it provides consistent chip damage through passive Lightning strikes and can be Evoked for a burst of targeted damage when needed.

Zap synergizes powerfully with Electrodynamics to spread Lightning damage across all enemies, and with Thunder to deal bonus damage whenever Lightning is Evoked. Storm turns every Power you play into additional Lightning channels, while Loop lets your rightmost Lightning Orb fire passively each turn.

As a Defect staple, Zap is a reliable early pick that scales into the mid and late game. It shines against multi-enemy fights like those with Ceremonial Beast and Soul Fysh, especially once Electrodynamics is online. Against single-target bosses like Kaiser Crab, pair it with Dualcast or Multi-Cast to maximize Evoke damage. The Cracked Core relic makes Zap's Lightning channel even more impactful from the very first turn.
