Breakthrough is a 1-cost Common Attack card for the Ironclad that causes you to lose 1 HP and deal 9 damage to ALL enemies. The small HP cost enables an efficient AoE Attack that clears groups of enemies while triggering self-damage synergies.

Breakthrough triggers Rupture, Crimson Mantle, and Inferno from the 1 HP loss, adding value on top of the AoE damage. Inflame and Demon Form boost the damage to all targets. Pair with Taunt to apply Vulnerable to all enemies before hitting them with Breakthrough. Thunderclap provides similar AoE with Vulnerable, and the two together can clear hallway fights quickly. Spite benefits from the cumulative HP loss over multiple plays.

Breakthrough is a solid AoE option for the Ironclad that doubles as a self-damage trigger. Pick it for multi-enemy encounters, especially in self-damage builds with Rupture. Against Test Subject #C10, the AoE helps manage summoned minions. The 1 HP cost is trivial and the AoE damage is efficient for a Common card. It helps the Ironclad handle the multi-enemy fights that pure single-target decks struggle with.
