Card
Slimed
Exhaust.
Slimed is a status card with a unique twist: unlike most status cards, Slimed costs 1 Energy to play and its only effect is Exhaust. This means you can spend 1 Energy to remove it from your deck permanently, but doing so costs you a valuable Energy point that turn. Alternatively, you can hold it and let other exhaust or discard effects deal with it for free.
The decision of whether to spend Energy playing Slimed or to wait for an exhaust tool is a key micro-decision. The Ironclad's True Grit can randomly exhaust Slimed for free while gaining Block. Feel No Pain turns playing Slimed into 3 Block, partially compensating for the Energy spent. Burning Pact can exhaust Slimed while drawing 2 cards. The Silent's Calculated Gamble discards Slimed along with the rest of your hand for a fresh draw. The Defect's Compact converts status cards into Fuel, a much better use of the dead card.
Slimed cards are primarily inflicted by slime-type enemies, particularly in the Overgrowth and encounters with Twig/Leaf Slimes. The Act 2 boss The Insatiable is also known for flooding your deck with status cards. When facing slime encounters, having cheap exhaust tools in your deck prevents Slimed from consuming Energy on future turns. For the Necrobinder, Slimed can be played and exhausted to feed Graveyard retrieval strategies, making it slightly less punishing than for other characters.
