Divine Right is the Regent's starting relic in Slay the Spire 2, enabling the unique Stars and Forge mechanic that defines the Regent's playstyle. This relic allows the Regent to accumulate Stars through gameplay and spend them at Forge events to upgrade and transform cards in ways no other character can achieve.

The Regent's entire economy revolves around Divine Right. Cards like Venerate and Falling Star generate Stars alongside their normal Block or damage effects, and the Stars accumulate across combats until spent at a Forge. The Forge mechanic offers powerful card transformations that can turn common cards into rare-quality effects, giving the Regent a unique form of scaling that improves the deck itself rather than just combat stats.

Divine Right makes the Regent a fundamentally different experience from other characters in Slay the Spire 2. While the Ironclad scales with Strength from Demon Form, the Silent stacks Poison with Noxious Fumes, the Defect builds Focus for Orbs, and the Necrobinder summons with Bound Phylactery, the Regent invests in permanent deck improvement through Stars. This makes the Regent weaker in early Act 1 encounters in the Overgrowth or Underdocks but potentially the strongest character in Act 3 against bosses like Doormaker and Test Subject #C10, where forged cards reach their maximum potential.
